Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

This page explains what happens to information when you visit coolnameeditor.com. It is written to be read, not to hide behind legal phrasing: short sections, plain language, and a clear note wherever something is handled by a third party.

Who is responsible

Cool Name Editor ("we", "us") operates this website and decides how the small amount of data described below is handled. You can reach us at any time through the contact page.

What you give us

Most visitors never send us anything. The generator runs entirely in your browser, and the names you type are not transmitted to us or stored on our servers.

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. That is the only personal information we ask for, and it is used solely to reply to you.

What is collected automatically

Like nearly every website, our hosting provider records standard request data: IP address, browser and operating system, the page requested, the referring page and a timestamp. These logs exist to keep the site online, diagnose faults and block abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you.

Your browser may also store a small local preference (for example, the last state of a tool). That value stays on your device and is not sent to us.

Cookies and advertising

The core pages do not set tracking cookies of our own. Advertising and analytics partners may set cookies or read device identifiers when you visit, in order to measure traffic and show relevant ads.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies generally at aboutads.info.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop the generator from working.

Why we use this information

  • To answer messages you send us.

  • To keep the service available, fast and free of abuse.

  • To understand which pages are useful, in aggregate, so we know what to improve.

  • To display advertising that funds the hosting.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers that make the site work: our hosting and content delivery provider, our email/feedback service, and advertising partners acting under their own policies. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of others.

How long it is kept

Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to resolve the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference, then deleted. Server logs are rotated and discarded on a short cycle. Aggregate statistics that cannot identify anyone may be kept indefinitely.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and access to stored messages is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfect, so please avoid sending sensitive details - passwords, payment information, identity documents - through the contact form.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to certain processing, or to request a copy in a portable format. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights come from the GDPR; in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives similar protections, including the right to know and the right to delete. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising in the sense those laws define it.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us and describe your request. We may need to verify that the request comes from you before acting on it, and we will respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal details, let us know and we will delete the message.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to external resources. Once you follow such a link, the privacy policy of that site applies, not ours. We have no control over how third parties collect or use your information.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, this page is updated and the date at the top is revised. Material changes will be flagged on the page for a reasonable period so returning visitors notice them.

Contact

Questions about this policy, or about the data we hold: contact us or email [email protected].
