Generated text and how platforms render it
The styles shown here are produced by mapping ordinary letters onto Unicode characters that resemble them. This has two practical consequences:
A given style may display differently - or not at all - depending on the app, operating system, font and version. Some platforms strip or replace unusual characters.
Styled text can break search, mentions and tags. A name written in decorative characters may not be found when someone searches for the plain spelling.
We test styles on common platforms, but we cannot guarantee that any particular style will render correctly everywhere, or continue to do so after an app update.
Names, trademarks and impersonation
This site does not grant you rights to any name, brand, character or handle. If a name is protected by trademark or belongs to another person, using it may infringe their rights - that is your responsibility to check, not ours. Do not use generated text to impersonate a person, brand or public figure, or to deceive anyone about who you are.
No guarantee of uniqueness
Decorative versions of a name are not unique identifiers. Two different people can easily end up with the same styled display name, and a platform may already have that handle registered. Availability is controlled by the platform, not by us.
